Overview

Inside The Book

ONE OF THE BIGGEST TRAGEDIES throughout the ages has to be dogma masquerading as information and knowledge. The unintended consequence of our education is a very limited frame of reference. We are blinkered to look in one direction and arriving there finding only one solution. Making a living comes down to going to school, getting a good education, and then a job. Uncontested beliefs land us in scary relationships and questionable choices. We forget there are many options to resolving things, and even more places beyond the wooden desks to truly learn the big lessons of life. The next big influence is politics, conditioning us to think that the government owes us everything we need to survive.

We are waiting for the government. We are waiting for God. We are always waiting for someone to come and help us take our life forward. We are waiting for everybody but ourselves. If things are not working, there is always someone to blame. The mindset of an African is generally that there is always somebody who will do something for me, to be able to move in my life, to be able to change. It's never me and what I need to do for myself.

My life experiences have taught me that your start doesn’t determine the end. I had a rough start and made it through some things that children should never see, hear, or feel. But through a momentous spiritual revelation and a miracle mother, I learned that vision, faith in an omnipotent God, and hard work you can do anything. Giving up was never an option. From being shunned by family and living on the streets to finding love and support from total strangers, all my dreams have come true. With a loving, protective husband and supportive children, I have achieved most of the dreams I had in life and today I live to help others do the same.

Challenging the status quo and static mindsets propagated through religion, customs, education, and unedited generational stories creates the space for renewal and to achieve what we never before imagined. We are in the business of abundance and supporting individuals and organizations to operate from a place where they can realize their full potential. When I was a little girl all I wanted was to escape to the big school at the end of the tarmac road that led out of the village. Through grace I found my dream and can continue this journey helping others to reach their big school of prosperity and abundance.

In The Big School At The End of the Tarmac Road, You Will Learn

I grew up in typical rural village, surrounded by extended family but in close ties with my only brother and two mothers. My mother was married as a second wife. My father’s first wife was barren. In line with tradition, if the first wife bore no children, she was allowed to look for and hook up the husband with a co-wife who would bear children and perpetuate the family line. So, in our case, she hooked her best friend (my mother) to her husband for marriage.

If you buy into your own vision, others will buy into it easily. This will easily connect you with mentors to guide you - if you know where you are going, there will always be someone to show you the way.

Think about retirement from day one. The job is not yours and it will end some day because there is more to life than just paying bills. You have to have a purpose for living beyond yourself. That is serving the kingdom.

I have come to appreciate fully the saying that marriage is the only school where the certificate comes before the class work! And so, the school continues with a new lesson every day on respect, patience, love and laughter, support and being “me” in the whole game of spousing and parenting.

Much as I wished to keep the promise to self, I was not anywhere near ready, even with all the plans I had implemented. So, I had to put in another ten years and push retirement to 50. In the ensuing 10 years, I put in lots of time to upgrade my training skills in the field of Wealth Creation and Risk Management. We partnered with a young girl who was my mentee at the office to set up Naveah Capital; your wealth creation and preservation partner.
